When it comes to love, timing is everything. When it comes to weddings, well, timing is everything! Getting to your big day on time is so important, and let’s be honest, arriving in style ain’t so bad. We’ve collected a few tips to make your day-of transportation seamless and fun.
When to book
As with all wedding planning, it’s totally subject to your own personal timeline. But we always recommend earlier the better – it gives you breathing space! Booking your wedding transportation 6-8 months ahead at minimum is good, but something to keep in mind is that April through June is prom and graduation season, a time where rental vehicles will be busy and in high demand.
Ride in Style: there’s more than just a classic black limo!
While we love the classic look of a black limo, we certainly have so many more transportation options today. From darling vintage cars to glitzed-out party buses, we say pick a ride that matches your style and taste. Our friends at The Silver Service have a custom-built convertible Mercedes Sprinter van (yes, you read that right!) It seats 9 and we promise it will be unforgettable experience. Just imagine… riding through sunny wine country in this beauty! A 360 view we wouldn’t get enough of.

Who to transport
While it’s not always expected to provide transportation for your bridal party, it’s something that they would surely appreciate. Consider booking a Sprinter as seen above, or limo to have them arrive in style too. Whether it’s to the ceremony, to the reception or to a hotel, it’s a sweet gesture and you’d ensure everyone gets there at the same time too.
For your friends and family from out of town, you may want to consider providing them a ride as well — we’ve all been there… trying to navigate in an unfamiliar city and we can say with confidence, it’s not fun. A charter bus would be a great option to shuttle a large group of guests.
Add pad time to every trip
Dear traffic, do us all a favor and cease to exist — unfortunately that request is a little farfetched for that wedding day magic… But to help prepare, we recommend adding a 20 minute buffer to each trip for unforeseen travel issues. Not to mention if the entire guest list is traveling from one destination to another, there will be more traffic than usual (even in more rural areas). Factoring in some extra time will only help your stress levels and give you some breathing space.
Don’t forget the music!
Set the tone for you and anyone in your ride with music. It will get you in the perfect party mood and ready to have fun. Skip the silence and curate those jams everyone loves (90s RnB hits anyone?) If you opt to shuttle guests, make there’s a playlist ready for them too.
